North Of America's album, This Is Dance Floor Numerology, is a unique and eclectic collection of tracks that will have listeners grooving from start to finish. The band's signature blend of post-hardcore and math rock is on full display here, with intricate guitar work and driving rhythms that will keep even the most jaded music fan engaged.
The album opens with the frenetic "Rigged And Ready," which sets the tone for what's to come. From there, the band takes the listener on a journey through a variety of moods and styles, from the dreamy "Mystery Language" to the propulsive "Dusk And Her Embrace."
One of the standout tracks is "The Future Is Bright," a catchy and anthemic song that showcases the band's ability to craft a memorable chorus. Meanwhile, "Spectacular Light Show" is a more experimental track that features a spoken-word section and a jarring, stop-start rhythm.

About North Of America
North of America is a rock band from Nova Scotia that has recorded with Matlock Records in Canada, the American label Level Plane Records and Rewika Records in Germany. Members of Halifax's State Champs and Truro's The Motes formed North of America in 1997. They have toured throughout North America and Europe, and members have been involved with other musical projects such as The Plan, The Holy Shroud, Instruments, Vkngs, The Got To Get Got, Ov Gramme, production for Buck 65, and composition of original music for the award winning CBC television show Street Cents.
The original line-up of the band consisted of Michael Catano, Mark Mullane, J. LaPointe, and Mark Colavecchia. LaPointe left the band after the recording of This is Dance Floor Numerology in 2001 and was replaced by Jim MacAlpine.
North of America disbanded after releasing Brothers, Sisters. Current members now reside in Halifax and Vancouver. Since the breakup, the band has played a number of reunion shows in 2010 and celebrated their 20th anniversary with two shows in 2017.
A collection of rarities and outtakes, 12345678910 was released in 2010 on cassette label Bart Records.
