In The Eye Of The Storm, the second album from Icelandic band Mono Town, is a brooding and atmospheric collection of songs that showcase the band's unique blend of rock, electronic and experimental music.
From the opening track "Jackie O" to the closing "The Hunt", the album takes the listener on a journey through a sonic landscape of dark and moody soundscapes, punctuated by bursts of driving guitar riffs and haunting vocals.
The standout tracks include "The Divine Comedy", a haunting ballad that builds to a crescendo of distorted guitars and soaring vocals, and "The Last Waltz", a melancholy meditation on love and loss that is both haunting and uplifting.
Throughout the album, Mono Town's musicianship is impeccable, with intricate guitar work and complex rhythms that create a sense of tension and unease.
