Trilogy Three Classic Albums by Miles Davis is a compilation of three of his most iconic albums: Seven Steps to Heaven, Quiet Nights, and My Funny Valentine. The album showcases Davis' versatility and range as a musician, as each album represents a different phase in his career.
Seven Steps to Heaven, recorded in 1963, features a more upbeat and energetic sound than Davis' earlier work. The album includes the title track, which has become a jazz standard, as well as other notable tracks like "Joshua" and "Basin Street Blues."
Quiet Nights, recorded in 1962, showcases Davis' more romantic side. The album includes several Brazilian-inspired tracks, including "Corcovado" and "Once I Loved," which feature Davis' signature muted trumpet and a lush orchestral arrangement.
My Funny Valentine, recorded in 1964, is a live recording from a concert at the Philharmonic Hall in New York City. The album features Davis' quintet, which included Herbie Hancock on piano and Wayne Shorter on saxophone. The album includes several classic tracks, including "My Funny Valentine" and "All of You."
