Review by jesica Lie

Matthews' Southern Comfort is a band that has been around for decades, and their latest album, Meet Southern Comfort, is a testament to their enduring musical legacy. The album is a collection of 12 tracks that showcase the band's signature blend of folk, rock, and country music.

From the opening track, "Bits and Pieces," the listener is transported to a world of warm, melodic harmonies and catchy guitar riffs. The band's frontman, Iain Matthews, delivers vocals that are both soulful and introspective, lending an emotional depth to the album's lyrics.

Other standout tracks on the album include "The Age of Isolation," a haunting ballad that speaks to the loneliness many have felt during the pandemic, and "Jinky Jinx," a rollicking tune that is sure to get listeners tapping their feet.

Al Anderson song. Iain has got good taste ;) l always loved the steel on Southern Comfort recordings. Gordon Hundley?
Thank you, so pretty.
I was wandering through Woodfield Mall (shopping center) in Schaumburg, IL (suburban Chicago) in 1971. As I walked near a record store, this very song was playing. It resonated with me instantly. I asked a sales person what was the name of that song? She held up the album, showed me where more of them were in the rack. I bought the album, and still have it. This song is quite a gem!
MSC's version of Woodstock is my fav!
The Wildweeds with Al Anderson NRBQ fame from Hartford Connecticut also had this out late 60's..
