Review by Mnau Jamwal

The album "The Great Rosamunde And Other Great Violin Music" is a beautiful collection of classical pieces by some of the greatest composers of all time. Ludwig van Beethoven, Johann Sebastian Bach, Franz Schubert, Max Bruch, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, and Joseph Haydn have all contributed to this album, which showcases their unparalleled talent and skill.

The album opens with Beethoven's "Violin Sonata No. 9 in A Major, Op. 47 'Kreutzer'," which immediately sets the tone for the rest of the collection. The masterful violin playing is accompanied by a beautifully melodic piano, creating a stunning duet that is both powerful and emotional.

Other highlights include Bach's "Partita No. 2 in D Minor for Solo Violin, BWV 1004," which showcases the incredible technical abilities of the violinist, and Schubert's "String Quintet in C Major, D. 956," which features a hauntingly beautiful melody that will stay with the listener long after the album has ended.

The album also includes pieces by Bruch, Mendelssohn Bartholdy, and Haydn, each of which is a testament to the composer's unique style and skill. The violin playing throughout the album is exceptional, with each piece showcasing the range and versatility of the instrument.

German composer and pianist, born in 1770 (baptized 17 December 1770) in Bonn, Germany and died 26 March 1827 in Vienna, Austria. A crucial figure in the transition between the Classical and Romantic eras in classical music. Beethoven led Viennese Classicism to its highest development and paved the way for Romantic music. Beethoven was the eldest son of a singer in the Kapelle of the Archbishop-Elector of Cologne and grandson of the Archbishop's Kapellmeister. He moved in 1792 to Vienna, where he had some lessons from Haydn and others, quickly establishing himself as a remarkable keyboard-player and original composer. By 1815 increasing deafness made public performance impossible and accentuated existing eccentricities of character, patiently tolerated by a series of rich patrons and his royal pupil the Archduke Rudolph. Beethoven did much to enlarge the possibilities of music and widen the horizons of later generations of composers. To his contemporaries he was sometimes a controversial figure, making heavy demands on listeners both by the length and by the complexity of his writing, as he explored new fields of music.
