Los Muchachos or El Circo de los muchachos (The Circus of the Boys) was the first experience of a national circus school in Spain, founded by Father Jesús Silva Méndez in 1963. It was installed on a farm called Benposta, also known as La Ciudad de los Muchachos (The City of Boys) in the suburbs from the city of Orense, in the parish of Seixalbo. It remained active until 2003, and has been classified as a youth self-management experience within the legal framework of the Francisco Franco dictatorship. In addition, to become the second European circus school, after the school of the Great Moscow Circus and one of the first audiovisual schools in the country.
