Review by Eric Hemati

Lil Hardin Armstrong's self-titled album is a timeless masterpiece that showcases her incredible talent as a jazz pianist and vocalist. Released in 1971, the album features a mix of original compositions and classic jazz standards, all of which are performed with an infectious energy and passion that is impossible to resist.

From the opening track, "Perdido Street Blues," Lil's piano playing is nothing short of mesmerizing. Her fingers dance across the keys with a fluidity and grace that is truly awe-inspiring, while her vocals are rich, soulful, and full of emotion.

Tracks like "Oriental Swing" and "My Hi-De-Ho Man" are perfect examples of Lil's ability to infuse traditional jazz with her own unique style and flair. The result is a sound that is both familiar and fresh, and that will have listeners tapping their feet and nodding their heads in appreciation.
