Irwin Prescott - Two Old Maids

Review by sabine legentil

Irwin Prescott's latest album, Two Old Maids, is a delightful collection of folk songs that transport listeners back to a simpler time. The album features Prescott's signature storytelling style, accompanied by his gentle guitar picking and soothing vocals.

The tracks on Two Old Maids are a mix of traditional folk songs and original compositions by Prescott. Each song tells a unique story, from the tale of a young man who falls in love with a wealthy woman ("The Miller's Daughter") to the humorous story of a man who tries to outrun the devil ("The Devil and the Farmer").

Prescott's voice is rich and warm, and he has a talent for drawing the listener in with his storytelling. His guitar playing is equally impressive, with intricate fingerpicking and delicate melodies that perfectly complement his vocals.
