Review by Supriti Chauhan

Huasipungo's self-titled album is a beautiful and powerful tribute to the indigenous culture of the Andes. The album features a diverse array of instruments, including the charango, quena, and bombo, which are all expertly played by the band's members.

The album's opening track, "Huasipungo," immediately sets the tone for the rest of the album with its haunting melody and powerful vocals. Other standout tracks include "El Cóndor Pasa," which features a beautiful flute solo, and "Carnaval de Cuzco," which showcases the band's ability to create infectious rhythms that are impossible not to dance to.

Throughout the album, Huasipungo's lyrics address important social and political issues facing indigenous communities in the Andes, including poverty, discrimination, and the struggle for land rights. The band's message is both poignant and inspiring, and their music is a testament to the resilience of the Andean people.
