Hemdale Doubled Over, the self-titled album by the grindcore band Hemdale Doubled Over, is a brutal and unrelenting assault on the senses. From the opening track, "Bleed the Pig," to the closing number, "Perverse," the album is a relentless barrage of blast beats, guttural vocals, and distorted guitars.
The production on the album is raw and unpolished, giving it a raw and visceral energy that perfectly suits the band's sound. The lyrics are dark and twisted, dealing with themes of violence, death, and depravity.
Despite its unrelenting brutality, Hemdale Doubled Over manages to inject a sense of humor into their music. Tracks like "Abusing the Grape" and "Flesh and Blood" are both hilarious and disturbing, showcasing the band's ability to balance their extreme sound with a tongue-in-cheek approach to their subject matter.
