Review by Mason James

Heartsounds' latest album, Drifter, is a testament to the band's evolution and versatility. The album features a unique blend of punk rock, hardcore, and melodic hardcore, making it a must-listen for fans of the genre.

The album starts off strong with the track "The World Up There," which sets the tone for the rest of the album. The song features catchy guitar riffs and driving drums that will have listeners tapping their feet along to the beat.

Throughout the album, Heartsounds showcases their ability to seamlessly transition from fast-paced, energetic tracks to slower, more melodic ones. This is particularly evident in songs like "Echo" and "Internal Eyes," which feature beautiful harmonies and introspective lyrics.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "The Song Inside Me," which features a powerful chorus and a memorable guitar solo. The song is a perfect example of Heartsounds' ability to create music that is both emotionally charged and musically impressive.

Reminds me of No Use For A Name.
this song is so fucking good!
I don't give a fuck what record label theyre on.
THIS IS A SPIRITUAL DECLINE
AN AFFLICTION OF THE HEART
A POSSESSION OF THE MIND
Ben's voice is so lousy
So, glad they're off Epitaph Records I hate this record company.
But the label has went to shit from going from Punk Rock, Skate Punk and Melodic Hardcore bands to shitty scene bands.
Heartsounds signed my copy of this album when I met them in Southampton last year : )
!!!!!
@TheNapalmDealer me too
this song is sex !
Great song!
So now people have a problem with what label a band is on? I could give a shit less about the label a band is on and, quite frankly, it's the last thing I even look for when checking out a band. I look for, oh you know, whether I find the band enjoyable and to my taste.
@ohmygodnotthebees Shitty label? The label started by Bad Religion that launched Rancid, Offspring, Pennywise, and NOFX? You call that a shitty label?
@ItsLaihinen yeah I had sampled these guys awhile back and appreciated the instruments but seeing these lyrics written out it just sounds like someone trying too hard to sound wordy/smart
Light This City > Heartsounds
This is called "melodic hardcore". It's a genre, basically analogous to "skatepunk". I like it. If you want it to be something else, go listen to something else. God knows there's enough pop punk AND screaming hardcore stuff out there to eat your heart out on...
apparently lyrics that repeat "me and my friends come first blahh blahh and fuck all else" have the most "meaning"...
This song really speaks to me right now and most people won't understand the lyrics when they do make sense . I really love this band and if you don't, then go away? No ones making you listen.
How does this not have meaning?
@DanCaldana if someone honestly thinks this is "hardcore" they must have got hit over the head with a frying pan. cause its more pop/punk.
@zamstrom Well, Epitaph uses WMG for distribution. But honestly, who gives a shit? The band writes and performs the music, they choose who they want to handle the label/distribution shit.

Who are you to say that Epitaph was the wrong choice for them?
@headbangerjonte It's skate punk. It all sounds the same.
this really sux if you want to hear hardcore look up bullet treatment
Man, I love Heartsounds but the one thing that pisses me off the most is..ITS UNDER WMG. WHAT THE FUCK. That is the most ANTI-PUNK thing ever.

Fuck WMG.
These lyrics are great, a lot better than all of the other pop-hardcore bands out there. Except maybe Set Your Goals. They have some damn good lyrics.
Why in the hello kitty is there an effin' Justin Bieber ad before this?!
@ItsLaihinen You're subscribed to ICP and you wanna talk about songs with meaning?
