Review by Phuc Truong

"Movie Land Melodies" by Guy Lombardo and His Royal Canadians is a delightful album that takes listeners on a nostalgic journey through the golden age of Hollywood. This album features Lombardo's signature big band sound, which is perfectly suited for the lush, sweeping melodies of classic movie tunes.

The album opens with "As Time Goes By" from the iconic film "Casablanca," and from there, the listener is transported to the magical world of movie musicals with songs like "Over the Rainbow" from "The Wizard of Oz," "Singin' in the Rain" from the film of the same name, and "Moon River" from "Breakfast at Tiffany's."

Lombardo's arrangements are masterful, and his orchestra's performances are impeccable. The album also features some lovely vocal performances, including a rendition of "The Way You Look Tonight" by Kenny Gardner.
