Grid of Points by Grouper is a hauntingly beautiful album that showcases the unique talents of Liz Harris. The album is a departure from her previous work, relying heavily on piano and vocal melodies to create a sparse and ethereal soundscape.
The album consists of eight tracks, each one more mesmerizing than the last. The opening track, "The Races," sets the tone for the album with its delicate piano melody and Harris' haunting vocals. "Parking Lot" is another standout track, featuring a simple piano melody that is both calming and introspective.
One of the most impressive aspects of Grid of Points is the way that Harris is able to create such a powerful emotional impact with such minimal instrumentation. The album is a masterclass in restraint, with each note and phrase carefully chosen to create a sense of intimacy and vulnerability.
