Girl Band - The Talkies

Girl Band's latest album, The Talkies, is a thrilling and intense ride that showcases the Dublin-based group's unique blend of post-punk, noise rock, and experimental sounds. From the opening track "Prolix" to the closing number "Ereignis," the band delivers a relentless assault on the senses, with abrasive guitars, pummeling drums, and frontman Dara Kiely's raw and visceral vocals.
The Talkies is not an easy listen, but it rewards those who can handle its abrasive and confrontational style. Tracks like "Going Norway" and "Couch Combover" are prime examples of the band's ability to create tension and release it in explosive bursts, while "Salmon of Knowledge" and "Shoulderblades" showcase their more experimental and atmospheric side.
