Funeral Altar's album, Untitled, is a powerful and haunting work of art that showcases the band's unique blend of black metal and funeral doom. The album is a journey through the darkest corners of the human psyche, with each track taking the listener deeper into the abyss.
The opening track, "Invocation," sets the tone for the album with its slow, crushing riffs and mournful vocals. The album then moves into "Sorrow," a track that is filled with despair and anguish. The use of atmospheric keyboards and haunting melodies creates a sense of foreboding that permeates the entire album.
As the album progresses, the band explores different facets of their sound, from the crushing riffs of "Funeral Pyre" to the more melodic "Lament." The vocals are particularly noteworthy, with the singer's deep, guttural growls adding to the overall sense of darkness and despair.
The production on the album is excellent, with each instrument and vocal track perfectly balanced to create a cohesive sound. The use of reverb and other effects adds to the overall atmosphere of the album, creating a sense of space and depth.
