Comments

No comments about that B side song "The Funky Hoe?"
In his autobiography Joe Barbera said they wanted to call the series The Banana Bunch but a Scots author objected, so they chose Banana Splits instead.A "million" boxes of Kellogg's cereals had to be destroyed as they had the name that wasn't used...
Daily Mail Answers To Correspondents 28.01.22 : The group , The Nite People, recorded the song under the name of The Banana Bunch. The Nite People were formed by Chris ‘Fergie’ Ferguson (drums) with Barry Curtis (keyboards), Jimmy Shipstone (guitar & lead vocals) and Nigel Street (sax) in Bournemouth in 1965. The song was totally alien to their usual R&B/rock recordings. Chris states that the worst thing for a publicity stunt was to walk up and down London’ Oxford Street in a banana costume. Chris also states that the disc broke all records by selling only five copies despite the B-side, ‘Seasons Of The Rain’ being written by Elton John and Bernie Taupin. According to the Record Price Guide a copy is worth about £30.
