Review by Rajesh Daggupati

The album Sonatas No 1 and 2 by Friedrich Gulda and Ludwig van Beethoven is a masterpiece that showcases the exceptional talent of both musicians. The album features two sonatas, Op. 2 No. 1 and Op. 2 No. 2, composed by Beethoven, and performed by Gulda with incredible precision and intensity.

The first sonata, Op. 2 No. 1, is a beautiful composition that highlights the virtuosity of both the composer and the performer. Gulda's interpretation of the piece is flawless, and he brings out the nuances of the music with great skill. The second sonata, Op. 2 No. 2, is equally impressive, and Gulda's performance is nothing short of breathtaking.

One of the standout features of this album is the clarity of the recording. The sound quality is excellent, and the listener can hear every note and every subtle change in dynamics. This allows the listener to fully appreciate the complexity and beauty of the music.

Comments

?⚘
From which year is the recording ?
Here we hear the collaboration between Marha Argerich and Friedrich Gulda: wonderful metrum,
a bit too straight forward but delicate though.
Thanks David, Friedrich Gulda was the greatest Austrian pianist! ?
A very fine rendition too, even though a bit hurried compared to Wilhelm Kempff. But ~ as I mentioned in a
previous comment, Friedrich Gulda is one of the Pianists I graciously 'grant' to be 'different' LoL. Thanks :o)
