About Fern Kinney
Southern soul - disco singer
She was born in Jackson, Mississippi on July 11, 1949. She started in the mid-60's singing with along with . She released one solo single in 1968, the produced "Your Love Is Not Reliable" and in the 70's she did back up singing for other artists' releases (, , etc.) before she started recording as solo artist in the late 70's, with the duet with , "Sweet Life in 1978. She released three albums, before returning to back up singing in the 80's. Her albums were produced by the holy trinity of southern soul scene (, , ). Her biggest hits were "Groove Me" and "Together We Are Beautiful", she has also covered successfully 's "Let The Good Times Roll" and 's "I've Been Lonely For So Long"
