Ensemble Economique Dubai - Split

Review by Daniel Oates

Ensemble Economique Dubai's latest album, Split, is a mesmerizing journey through a vast soundscape of ambient, experimental and electronic music. The album is a collaboration between Ensemble Economique, the solo project of Brian Pyle, and Dubai-based musician Alexander Glück, who brings his unique sonic sensibilities to the mix.

The opening track, "Faithful Satellites," sets the tone for the album with its haunting, otherworldly soundscapes. The use of electronic beats and synthesizers creates a sense of tension and mystery that is maintained throughout the album.

The album's standout track is "The Mysterious Disappearance of M.M." which features a hypnotic, repetitive beat that builds to a climax of pulsating synths and distorted guitars. The track is a perfect example of the album's ability to create a sense of unease and tension through its music.

Other highlights include "The Serpent's Tail," which features a beautiful, ethereal melody, and "The Last Waking Moments," which is a haunting, ambient track that feels like a dream.
