Notes

  • The original 1967 SHRIMPENSTEIN 45 rpm record with the opening theme song on the Monstrous "A" side and on the Crazy "B" side the incredibly "not" PC KARATE MAN, both sung by Dr. Von Schtick ( Gene Moss ) and the Tijuana Bats. The music is 60's garage band heaven. It was given to kids for free as part of their SHRIMPENSTEAN FAN CLUB kit
  • SHRIMPENSTEIN was kids Saturday morning "B" monster movie TV show like ELVIRA that played on KHJ channel 9 in Los Angeles from 1967 to 1968. It featured Shrimpenstein, a miniature Frankenstein monster puppet. The hosts were Gene Moss (Dr. Von Schtick) and Jim Thurman. Check Youtube for the few surviving episodes - its crazy cool.

"Thanks a lot, Harry."
How lovely. It was good to hear Gene and Jim -- they were lovely gentlemen. My friends and I were also from Long Beach, fans of Shrimpy, Roger and we picketed KHJ when they were canceling The Moss & Thurman Show OR the Thurman & Moss Show OR the OR Show! With the Stan Worth Trio (bass player Whitey Mitchell became a writer for Get Smart!). Such creative talent we were treated to way back when.
What a wonderful thing you have created here. Thank you.
Thank-you a thousand times over from putting this up. I grew up in Long Beach, and I and my friends, "The Jewish Mafia
Hooray! More shrimpy!
My brother and I were living on Vandenberg AFB at the time , and we watched Shrimpy every afternoon it was on. This show had me in tears many times.... it was funny , risque, totally over the top and a treasure all in one.
