Review by Jeanette Hawkinson

Dennis Caplinger and Rollin' In The Hay's tribute to REM, titled Pickin On REM The Bluegrass Tribute, is a delightful album that brings a fresh perspective to the band's iconic songs. The album features 12 tracks that have been reimagined in a bluegrass style, showcasing the band's versatility and Caplinger's skillful arrangements.

The album starts off with "Losing My Religion," one of REM's most recognizable songs, and sets the tone for the rest of the album. Caplinger's mandolin and banjo playing are particularly impressive on this track, and the harmonies from the rest of the band are spot-on. Other standout tracks include "Man on the Moon," "Nightswimming," and "The One I Love," which all benefit from the bluegrass treatment.
