Review by Bill Tyson

Crazy Elmer's "I Heard A Rainbow" is a vibrant and eclectic album that showcases the artist's unique blend of folk, rock, and blues. From the opening track "Rainbow in My Mind," the listener is transported to a world of colorful imagery and vivid storytelling.

The album features a range of instrumentation, from acoustic guitars and harmonicas to electric guitars and keyboards. Crazy Elmer's vocals are raw and emotive, adding an extra layer of depth to the already rich arrangements.

Standout tracks include "Soul of a Gypsy," a haunting ballad that showcases Crazy Elmer's ability to convey deep emotions through his music, and "Dancing in the Rain," a lively and upbeat number that will have listeners tapping their feet.

About Crazy Elmer

Member of the WWVA Original Jamboree He performed standards and yodel-filled ballads using the stage name Smiley (or Smilie) Sutter (he won the West Virginia state yodeling championship in 1938), he was best known as Crazy Elmer Squeezix, "King of the Country Comics." Every Saturday night Crazy Elmer treated the Jamboree audience to a hilarious twenty-minute sketch, often co-starring Monte Blake as his straight man. During one Jamboree show in 1941 Crazy Elmer performed a comedic rifle presentment drill that had the audience roaring with laughter.
