Review by Maman Ashari Hasan Tjokke

Coil 2 1991-1998 is a stunning collection of tracks that showcase the incredible range and talent of the band. The album is a compilation of previously unreleased material, B-sides, and remixes that span the period of 1991 to 1998. The tracks are an eclectic mix of genres, including experimental, ambient, and electronic music, and each one is a masterpiece in its own right.

The album opens with the hauntingly beautiful "Something," a track that sets the tone for the rest of the record. The song is a perfect example of Coil's ability to create a mood and atmosphere with their music. The album then moves into the more experimental and avant-garde tracks, such as "Nasa-Arab" and "Red Weather." These tracks showcase Coil's willingness to push boundaries and explore new sounds.

The album also features several remixes, including "Amethyst Deceivers (Version 1)" and "The Snow (Driftmix)." These remixes add a new dimension to the original tracks and demonstrate Coil's ability to reinvent their own music.
