Review by Carrie Finley Bajak

The Cathedral Quartet's album "One At A Time" is a beautiful collection of gospel music that showcases the group's incredible vocal harmonies and powerful lyrics. The album features a mix of classic hymns and contemporary gospel songs, all performed with the Cathedral Quartet's signature style and passion.

From the opening track, "I've Got A New Song To Sing," to the closing number, "I Will Sing Of My Redeemer," the album is a testament to the group's talent and dedication to their craft. The quartet's voices blend together seamlessly, creating a rich and uplifting sound that is sure to inspire listeners.

Standout tracks on the album include "We'll Work 'Till Jesus Comes," a stirring call to action for all believers, and "Going Home," a poignant ballad about the promise of eternal life. The album also includes a number of upbeat, foot-stomping tracks, such as "I'm Gonna Keep On Singin'" and "I've Got A Right To Pray."

About The Cathedral Quartet

Years Active: 1963 - 1999 Origin: Stow, Ohio, U.S.A. An American Southern Gospel Quartet that lasted from 1963 until their retirement in December 1999. In 1963, Glen Payne, Bobby Clark, and Danny Koker formed the Cathedral Trio for evangelist Rex Humbard at the Cathedral of Tomorrow in Akron, Ohio. With the addition of bass singer George Younce a year later, the Cathedral Trio became the Cathedral Quartet. The Cathedrals immediately became a sensation with their smooth quartet sound. The tenor and baritone position changed often during the Cathedrals' long career, but the four most stable versions had George Younce (who joined the trio in November 64) and Glen Payne, teamed with Roy Tremble (tenor), and George Amon Webster (baritone) from 19741979; Kirk Talley (tenor), and Mark Trammell (baritone) from 19801983; Danny Funderburk (tenor), and Mark Trammell (baritone) from 19831990; Ernie Haase (tenor) and Mark Trammell just in 1990; and Ernie Haase (tenor), and Scott Fowler (baritone) from 1991-2000.
