The Blendwrights - Let Down The Ladder

Review by James Delnort

Let Down The Ladder, the latest album by Blendwrights, is a stunning display of musical craftsmanship. The band's unique blend of indie rock and folk influences creates a sound that is both refreshing and familiar. The album's opening track, "Lost in the Moment," is a perfect introduction to the band's style, with its catchy guitar riffs and infectious chorus. The album continues with tracks like "All I Need" and "Stay With Me," which showcase the band's ability to create emotionally charged lyrics that are both relatable and thought-provoking.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "Broken Dreams," a haunting ballad that showcases the band's ability to create a melancholy atmosphere with their music. The song's sparse instrumentation and haunting vocals are a perfect match for its introspective lyrics.

Going through a rough season...I honestly have not thought of this song in maybe 40 years...this evening, I realized that there is JOY in Jesus and the Holy Spirit put a huge smile on my soul and impressed me with this song from my youth. God is good and being joyful in the Lord is a choice!!!
sabbath afternoon joy
This takes me back to my childhood and adulthood singing in a group that loved these songs and the Blend Wrights.
What memories these song's bring. How well I remember Aunt Jackie, Aunt Eleanor, and Aunt Audrey lefting their voices in praise. These Lady soldiers for the Lord are in my DNA. Thanks so much for giving such a precious memory.
What a joy in discovering that there's no screaming life in black gospel.
Thank you for sharing these wonderful songs.  I sang them growing up with my girlfriends and then taught them to my children.    My daughter, husband and I are still singing this one and "How Many Steps."  What a blessings these songs have been to my soul and our family! Blessings to you and yours.
Cher, you're very welcome. I do plan to upload more of their stuff in the near future.
Okay, good to hear that. Keep up the good work.
Glad to have done a little research to get the correct name of my all time favorite, "I ASKED ABOUT YOU" not I dreamed I reached Heaven. The song is part of this album. We still listen to them here and on WJOU, Oakwood radio. Your collection appears to be larger than this internet radio station. Looking forward to sharing. And thank you for responding.
Awh! Music!!!:)
Please don't do that! We love all the older stuff. Once people find out it is out there on the web they will begin to listen. I have looked on youtube every year about twice a year for years and finally I decided today to check and here you are!! Don't give up. People need pure music.
nettiemae1, I am not giving up. I am simply making some necessary adjustments.
You're welcome. I have four albums by these ladies and there is no song by that title on any of them.
WOW! I remember listening to this EVERY Sabbath as a kid growing up! I just went to bed happy!
Thank you so much for sharing. I too have been searching for the sound of the Blendwrights and try to share some of the songs with my children. They love them too. My favorite song is "I Dreamed I Reached Heaven". Would you be able to share this song. Or advise which album I could locate it from. Such as "Over the sunset mountain or Let Down the Ladder" Thanks again.
You're welcome. It໿ is my favorite too. "Let Down The Ladder" and "How Many Steps To Heaven" are really good too.
This is my favorite from this album thanks for posting
This is one of my favorite albums. I have to agree with Bonnie Pearson, I love "Let Down The Ladder" and "How Many Steps". Although we don't do as well, I have a post with my sisters and me singing this song. Would love to hear what everyone thinks. I also have another posting I will put on here soon. We did this song and my cousin and his family were in town. They had never heard the song before, but they picked us up on their instruments and had that Pentecostal Church rockin'!!! Look for it.
love it
Glad you like it.
I'm glad you like it. The older stuff like this that I post does not get very many views. I may just defer it to another uploader who has higher viewership. Going forward I will definitely not be posting many tracks from one project. I will choose one or two and that will be it. It's too much work for too low views.
I love it are u posting any other songs from this lp ?
I bought this very album with from Nashville to United Kingdom then California 30 years ago! ??
Perfect! perfect! I love this group could listen to them over and over again! I truly get a blessing here in the melodious sounds!
