'Big' John Patton's album, Along Came John: I'll Never Be Free, is a captivating and energetic collection of jazz tracks that showcases the artist's incredible talent on the organ. The album features a range of compositions, from bluesy, soulful pieces to fast-paced, swinging numbers.

Listeners will be immediately drawn in by the opening track, "The Silver Meter," which sets the tone for the rest of the album with its funky, groovy beat. Other standout tracks include "I'll Never Be Free," a soulful ballad that showcases Patton's emotive playing, and "Spiffy Diffy," a fast-paced, high-energy piece that will have listeners tapping their toes.

Throughout the album, Patton is joined by a talented group of musicians, including saxophonist Fred Jackson and drummer Ben Dixon, who provide a solid foundation for Patton's virtuosic playing. The interplay between the musicians is particularly notable on tracks like "Latona," where the saxophone and organ engage in a playful call-and-response.

Gotdamn at 1:56. Big John hit the hell out of that cord. I met Big John as a kid he was good friends with my father but was too young to really appreciate his music, but got into it at age 17, now I’m 32, still bumping his music.
Reminds me of Jimmy Smith.
My main man!!!
