The B52's - Legal Tender

Review by Lesley Karonika

The B-52's, one of the most iconic bands of the new wave era, released their fourth studio album Legal Tender in 1983. The album features some of the band's most popular tracks, including "Legal Tender," "Whammy Kiss," and "Queen of Las Vegas."

Legal Tender is a departure from the B-52's earlier sound, incorporating more electronic elements and experimental instrumentation. The album's opening track, "Legal Tender," is a perfect example of this new direction, with its driving synth bassline and catchy chorus.

The album also features some of the band's most playful and surreal lyrics, such as "Butterbean, Butterbean, whipped cream on your face, can't get enough of your love" from "Butterbean" and "I got a wild pair of eyes and a crazy smile, but baby I'm a sensitive guy" from "Don't Worry."

Comments

Was this a single, or the b-side to something? I'd love to hear this at a lower rpm
I have the cassette and played it over and over with this song on it. I went to play it years later and the song "don't worry" was in its place. After confusion on my part wondering where moon 83 was I realized it replaced the previous mentioned song due to "don't worry" being a legal issue Yoko Ono song
How the HELL have I never heard this version before???
La primera vez que oigo esta versión, me gusta!!!
brilliant video!
I love this song! But I love all of the The B-52’s, their music are magic pieces
Love it!
This is tremendous. Thanks for making it. I love this song and I didn't know anyone else even listened to it.
Great work! Brightened my day.
Anyone have a idea of who is the artiste behind the sculptures ?
Prototechno - leagues ahead
I'm sure that was Raquel Welch in the video, looking sizzlingly delicious.
This is really brilliantly done! You've chosen footage that really matches the music. I think The b-52s would approve!
this is sublime. this IS the space age. thanks for this awesome show!
This is perfect. Thank you!
The most underrated band in history
Bitchin ♥️?

A simplicidade do videoclipe e a alegria de Kate e Cindy ao gravarem esse Hit e incrível , talvez elas não soubessem na época mas com certeza ficariam pra sempre na história da música , parabéns ao the B-52's !!!!! ???????????
