Comments

This is one of their most underrated classics!
I recently had the honor of talking with Mark Lindsay, and the subject of war came up. I mentioned that this song always makes me wish we didn't have to have war, as he had already expressed that he felt that way. One day perhaps, we might learn to live peacefully with one another.
On this day in 1967 {November 25th} Paul Revere and the Raiders performed "Do Unto Others" on the ABC-TV network's Saturday-afternoon program, 'American Bandstand'...
A little over three weeks later on December 17th "Do Unto Others" peaked at #102 on Billboard's Bubbling Under the Top 100 chart...
Between 1961 and 1973 the group had twenty-four records on the Top 100 chart, five* made the Top 10 with one reaching #1, "Indian Reservation
What have I missed whilst I was living in th sixties? Very neat. The raiders had so much more to offer than the world had time for then.
I showed my copy to Mark Lindsay and he had no recollection of it. Probably one of those record company cash-ins/repackagings that they neglected to pay any royalties on. He did say that he still has the wooden plaque that the cover is based on, though.
Spirit of '67 is a great album!
I have this record from when I was a kid. It's a greatest hits compilation on Harmony Records: Paul Revere and the Raiders feat. Mark Lindsey. You can also get this version and the original single version on the Hard N Heavy with Marshmallow cd.
far superior to the single version on the 45
isn't this available on  the Greatest Hits vol.2 lp?
