Angkor Wat's album "Corpus Christi" is a masterpiece that showcases the band's unique blend of punk rock and heavy metal. The album, released in 1988, features nine tracks that are both powerful and thought-provoking.
The opening track, "The Trial," sets the tone for the rest of the album with its aggressive guitar riffs and pounding drums. The lyrics are a condemnation of the injustices of the legal system and the corruption of those in power.
Other standout tracks include "The Search," a haunting ballad that explores the search for meaning in life, and "When Obscenity Becomes the Norm," a scathing critique of the excesses of modern society.

About Angkor Wat
Formed in 1986 in Corpus Christi, Texas, Angkor Wat was an integral part of the hardcore punk DIY scene that took root throughout South Texas during the mid to late 80s.
Angkor Wat put out two albums with Metal Blade/Death Records, and were known for the energy of their DIY shows. They played shows with bands including Cryptic Slaughter, GBH, the Accused, and Suicidal Tendencies. Their peers in TX included , Rotting Corpse, and the Fearless Iranians from Hell.
The band broke up in 1991, but is seeing a reformation in 2018.
