Andy Gassaway - Hellfire

Review by Shelley Webb

Andy Gassaway's "Hellfire" is a hard-hitting rock album that showcases his impressive guitar skills and raw vocal talent. The album is a mix of heavy, distorted riffs and melodic, introspective ballads that explore the darker side of human emotion.

The opening track, "Rise Up," sets the tone for the album with its driving rhythm and anthemic chorus. "Devil's Playground" and "Burn It Down" are standout tracks that showcase Gassaway's ability to craft catchy, memorable hooks that will stick in your head long after the music has stopped.

The slower, more introspective tracks like "Broken Wings" and "Fade Away" give the album depth and balance, allowing Gassaway to showcase his range as a musician and songwriter. The lyrics are honest and heartfelt, exploring themes of love, loss, and redemption.

Notes

"Hellfire" is the debut solo album by singer/songwriter Andy Gassaway. These 10 songs take a lo-fi garage-rock approach to country music, with a few nods to 70s glam and the British Invasion along the way (think Guided by Voices meets Flying Burrito Bros.).Andy wrote, performed and recorded "Hellfire" in his basement in Seattle. His pal Lucas Anderson played harp on the title track.
