About Me: The day I decided to dance was the day my mom gave me a choice. She told me that the only way she would let me dance was if I finally decided to give up my bottle (aka. my "dadoo"). Although I don't remember the specifics of this conversation, being that I was only two years old, I think it's safe to say I put my dadoo to rest. Since then, I've attended two different dance studios. The first, "Today's Dance Center," gave me my technique and/or my classical training in ballet and modern. But I was always jealous of how other dance studios did more fun types of dancing, such as hip hop, improv or contemporary. So at the age of fourteen, I decided that it was time to put down the pointe shoes in order to learn who I was as a dancer, and how my body moved without the direction of others. I was able to do this at "Core Academy of Movement." Today, I am a junior, marketing major, at Rider University. Dancing is still a part of my life, but not as much as it used to be. I currently serve on the Rider Dance Ensemble as the secretary and as a choreographer. In other words, I still get to explore my creativity through dance while in the midst of earning my business degree.
