Zu93 - Mirror Emperor

Mirror Emperor, the latest album by Zu93, is an ethereal and haunting collection of music that transports the listener to another realm. The project, a collaboration between experimental rock band Zu and British poet and performance artist David Tibet, creates a unique and otherworldly atmosphere.
The album opens with "The Coming of the Mirror Emperor," a spoken word piece by Tibet that sets the tone for the rest of the album. His voice is accompanied by the atmospheric and ambient soundscapes created by Zu, which build in intensity as the track progresses.
Throughout the album, Tibet's poetry takes center stage, with Zu providing a sonic backdrop that perfectly complements his words. The music is both delicate and powerful, with moments of quiet introspection juxtaposed with explosive bursts of energy.
One standout track is "The Heart of the Mirror Emperor," which features a driving bassline and hypnotic percussion that propel Tibet's vocals forward. The track builds to a frenzied climax before fading into a haunting instrumental section.

- The album comes as 180 gram vinyl (600 black, 400 red), and a thick (350gsm) card stock with matte varnish, and includes a printed inner sleeve and an additional 4-page booklet of lyrics and artwork.
- Comes in a stickered PVC sleeve. Record was presented in a generic black inner sleeve, not in the printed inner sleeve that is also included.
