Grazie per aver pubblicato questa rara registrazione (a suo tempo il vinile e il CD, anche quando erano in commercio, erano introvabili) di un'opera che mi è particolarmente cara, con i migliori interpreti che si potessero desiderare.
Wat een heerlijke frisse uitvoering! Super solisten, vooral Sherill Milnes. Ik zong deze opera in 1988 als chorist in een amateuruitvoering in Tilburg.
Sheer majesty. Caballe, Domingo and Milnes made a lot of very beautiful music together. That high D is quite a treat, though I'm not OCD for high note aerobatics just for their sake. It's the entire tessitura, the fidelity of the legato that matters more. Bravi a tutti. Mil gracias. Paz.
I just listened to the Finale of this opera. Has there ever been any other music so enthralling and inspired? If the whole world could see a traditional production of this opera in person, with musicians such as these, I believe there would be an opera revival like never before. BRAVISSIMO VERDI!! What a joy and treasure, of which, sadly, even most classical musicians are unaware.
