Review by Maribel Moya de Mata

Tower of Power, the legendary funk and soul band, has returned with their latest album Sparkling In The Sand. The album features 10 tracks that showcase the band's signature sound, with a mix of groovy beats, funky horns, and soulful vocals.

The album opens with the title track "Sparkling In The Sand," a funky tune with a catchy chorus that will have listeners tapping their feet. "Do You Like That?" is another standout track with a driving beat and horns that will get the party started.

Tower of Power's musical prowess is on full display throughout the album, with each member of the band contributing to the overall sound. The horn section, in particular, shines on tracks like "Step Up" and "Let's Celebrate Our Love."

Vocalist Marcus Scott delivers powerful performances on every track, showcasing his range and ability to convey emotion through his singing. "Who Would Have Thought?" is a standout ballad that showcases Scott's soulful voice.

22 people really? Die a super slow death.
Saw Rick Stevens and tower of Power at St Francis High school, mt. View, Cali.earlr, Earle 70's
Too sad, I actually chased and arrested Rick Stevens when I was a Santa Clara county deputy sheriff. He was convicted of double homicide. He and TOP are still my favotites
I can't buy this as 1973 - I was at DLI in Monterey in 1970 and this was a big hit while I was out there - I left in Spring 1971... can't see it as 1973. Great song - turned me on to TOP and I never ever turned off.
I miss my Brother so much R.I.H Rufus Miller …….. July 21,2016
