Review by Amanda Krauter

Toshi Ichiyanagi's latest album, Cosmos of Toshi Ichiyanagi II, is a mesmerizing collection of experimental electronic music that showcases the Japanese composer's unique artistic vision. The album consists of six tracks, each of which explores different sonic landscapes and textures, from the ambient drones of "Cosmic Pulse" to the glitchy, glitchy rhythms of "Quantum Leap."

One of the most striking aspects of the album is its use of sound manipulation and processing. Ichiyanagi's compositions are built around intricate layers of sound, which are often heavily processed and distorted to create a sense of otherworldly atmosphere. The result is a sonic universe that is both hauntingly beautiful and deeply unsettling.

Another noteworthy aspect of the album is its use of electronic instrumentation. Ichiyanagi employs a wide range of synthesizers, samplers, and other electronic devices to create his compositions, often blurring the line between acoustic and electronic sounds. This gives the album a distinctly modern feel, while still retaining a sense of organic warmth.
