The Legendary, Mr. Tom Scott!!!!
...Smoking hot... A funky jazz tune for the soul... You go Tom...!
Dang. Not sure I ever heard him on alto. Fantastic groove, as usual, tight sound, great melodic improv. The dude’s a genius. Saw him in Berkeley when I was a college kid in the ‘80s. I can truly say I performed on the same stage as Tom Scott! Ok, not at the same time as Tom Scott, but it was the same stage, just a couple of hours earlier! My group was in a competition (took first!!) then Tom & co. treated everyone to a concert that night. Good memories. Tom was a class act, gracious and friendly.
Not a single member of the LA Express in this video! Max Bennett was my old teacher and I used to sit in with them at his home! Good band but not the LA Express!
This cat has edgy sound on Alto, not has powerful as David Sanborn, but brighter than Grover Washington Jr and Gerald Albright. His music is in my collection from the 1980's on cassette tapes of course.
3 people on this channel were born without ears
Sony should hire Tom Scott for Gran Turismo.
Fuck yeah!
I think I used to have the studio album... I had most of the old albums.. or maybe my college radio station played it
One of the best saxophonists who's ever lived. He's contributed to countless 'killer' tracks from Steely Dan, Donald Fagan, even the Carpenters! Unmistakeable phrasing excellence - he just makes it "SING"! How DOES he do it?!!! Hadn't heard this track before. I've heard it twice and I'm hooked!!!
Groovelicious !
I first saw Tom Scott when he headed up the band for Olivia Newton-John on her Physical tour back in 1982. He is a very talented man.
Very nice Tom Scott, very nice..
Actually I would've preferred he played this jam on the tenor sax...but no worries..
Not gonna lie...The Boondocks brought me here. "I don't like the police Riley. Reach in that glove compartment and give me that gun there" *starts shooting at the police*
Everybody who mentioned the boondocks or troy I jus watched today nd almost made my bro cry wen he heard the sax wen riley was runnin away I never fully listen to troy tho cuz it depresses me
