Tarot's self-titled album, Tarot, is a masterpiece of Finnish heavy metal. The band, led by the charismatic Marco Hietala, delivers a set of powerful and melodic songs that showcase their musicianship and songwriting skills.
The album's opener, "Midwinter Nights," sets the tone with its epic and anthemic chorus, while "Dancing on the Wire" and "Back in the Fire" display the band's knack for crafting catchy and memorable hooks. "Love's Not Made for My Kind" is a standout track with its haunting atmosphere and emotional lyrics.
Throughout the album, Tarot's sound is characterized by Hietala's powerful and versatile vocals, Zachary Hietala's intricate guitar work, and Janne Tolsa's atmospheric keyboards. The rhythm section of Marko Paasikoski on bass and Pecu Cinnari on drums is tight and precise, providing a solid foundation for the songs.
