Thank you Motu, this video is a precious gift to the world. Sviatolsav is immortal, and I think he may have returned to planet earth. He maybe disguising himself and performing under the name Benjamin Grosvenor. If so, his disguise isn't working. Does anyone else out there think this may be true ? CHEERS !
Richter never met a keyboard that he did not like. Rachmaninoff's Piano Concertos 1&4 don't get enough stage attention, nor do his Preludes and these Etudes. Possibly the next generation of artists will play them more often.

Richter Horowitz Sokolov ,,,,all Russian greats.
I'm a Richter non-fan. But for his Rachmaninoff I make an exception. Stunning performances.
The best combination of the highest technique and the innate lyricism, both of which are absolutely needed for the perfect performance of this magnificent masterwork. Simply wonderful!
“Technically & artistically perfect.” Consensus. How often can one really say that about a classical piece of music?
Richt-Rach is definitely the way to go
These performances are exceptional, but those of Prague the following year are even more unrivaled. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZPmIddGXY8
Richter the best interpreter of Rach...indeed absolutely
Stupendous!
