Review by Steve Bottoms

Gate Of Doom by SOB is a ferocious assault on the senses, showcasing the band's raw energy and uncompromising approach to thrash metal. The album is a masterclass in speed, aggression, and technical proficiency, with each track delivering a relentless barrage of riffs, solos, and thunderous drumming.

From the opening track, "Raging Steel," to the closing epic, "Gate Of Doom," SOB unleashes a sonic onslaught that is sure to please fans of classic thrash metal. The band's musicianship is top-notch, with guitarist Toshihiro Sumitomo delivering blistering solos and vocalist Tatsu Mikami spitting venomous lyrics with conviction.

The production is also worth noting, with a clear and powerful sound that allows the instruments to shine. The album's artwork is also impressive, with a menacing depiction of a demonic gate that perfectly captures the mood of the music.

Comments

The band's 1993 album, Gate of Doom, is a dirtier, semitone-lower generic Death Metal imitation of Death and Obituary.
