Barbara was the lead singer of the Motown group High Inergy. This song was on their LP Groove Patrol, by far the girls' most cohesive work. It's telling that this song is attributed to Barbara and not the group because by this time HI had disbanded. This song was getting played in Buffalo but then it was abruptly yanked, mainly because Barbra was leaving Motown for another label. What a voice, though.
