Review by orhan bayraktar

Smooth Jazz Apocalypse is the latest album from Reinier Baas, a Dutch guitarist and composer. The album, released in 2019, is a fusion of jazz, rock, and classical music, with a touch of humor and satire. Baas is known for his innovative approach to jazz, and this album is no exception.

The album opens with the title track, which sets the tone for the rest of the album. The track is a fast-paced, energetic piece that showcases Baas's guitar skills. It is followed by "Snoekbaars Jazz," a playful and whimsical tune that features a catchy melody and a funky bass line.

The album also features some slower, more contemplative tracks, such as "Pastoral," which showcases Baas's ability to create beautiful and intricate melodies. "Farewell to Arms" is another standout track, with its haunting guitar lines and melancholic atmosphere.

Throughout the album, Baas's guitar playing is exceptional, and he is joined by a talented group of musicians who bring their own unique style to the music. The album is a testament to Baas's creativity and talent as a composer and musician.

About Reinier Baas

Reinier Baas (1985) is a guitarist based in Amsterdam, Holland. Graduated from the Conservatory of Amsterdam with the highest honors and a finalist for the prestigious Deloitte Jazz Award (2010), he is fast gaining a reputation as one of Hollands most promising young players.
