Review by Irwan Kartadipura

The album 5 Way Split 7 by Raven Chacon is a fascinating and experimental release that showcases the artist's unique approach to sound and composition. The album features five tracks that are each distinct in their own way, yet all share a common thread of experimentation and boundary-pushing.

The first track, "Willow," is a haunting and atmospheric piece that features Chacon's signature use of layered sounds and textures. The track builds slowly and steadily, with eerie whispers and ghostly drones creating a sense of unease and tension.

The second track, "Lilith," is a more aggressive and abrasive piece that features distorted guitars and heavy percussion. The track has a raw, primal energy that is both exhilarating and unsettling.

The third track, "Narwhal," is a more subdued and introspective piece that features delicate piano and ethereal vocals. The track has a dreamy, otherworldly quality that is both calming and hypnotic.

The fourth track, "Datura," is a dense and complex piece that features a cacophony of sounds and textures. The track is disorienting and dissonant, with layers of noise and feedback creating a sense of chaos and confusion.

The final track, "Ouroboros," is a meditative and contemplative piece that features gentle, repetitive rhythms and soothing melodies. The track has a calming, hypnotic quality that is both soothing and introspective.
