Review by Rising Son's: Computer Clearance & Repari

Axe, the latest album by Randy Bachman, is a mesmerizing collection of blues-rock tracks that showcases the Canadian musician's virtuosity on the guitar. The album features 11 songs, each with its own distinct sound and style, ranging from slow-burning blues ballads to foot-stomping rock anthems.

Bachman's guitar playing is the star of the show here, with his signature riffs and solos stealing the spotlight on every track. His mastery of the instrument is evident on songs like "Ton of Bricks" and "The Edge," where his lightning-fast fingers race up and down the fretboard with effortless ease.

The album also features some standout vocal performances, particularly on the soulful ballad "Bad Child," where Bachman's voice drips with emotion and longing. The lyrics throughout the album are introspective and personal, exploring themes of love, loss, and redemption.

Axe is a must-listen for fans of blues and rock music alike. Bachman's guitar work is impeccable, and his songwriting is top-notch, making this album a standout in his already impressive discography.

Comments

Axe and the Guess Who release The Way They Were are a combined portrait of a band at its peak. Both were recorded in the spring of 1970 after the Guess Who's giant hit American Woman. The Way They Were is as far as the Bachman-Cummings partnership got before Bachman's Mormon beliefs broke up the band. Bachman then recorded this solo album. Beautiful stuff.
Fantastic song from 1970 !!!
This guy is Tremendous.
go randy go
The legend of guitar..."no virtuose
This song was originally written for the Winnipeg group Sugar & Spice, with vocals by the Murphy sisters. That version was released on Franklin Records in Canada, and on White Whale in the US.
So smooth.
What did I miss here? I really should've been doing more listening in my "Psychedelic Supper" days and less sleeping in. Randy's first solo has some neat little moments like these.
Randy Bachman is amazing! Listen to "Dont get yourself in trouble" from Bachman Turner Live in Tokyo. Youd think Hendrix and Frank Marino had a baby! AXE is a great solo effort from Vancouver's best! Precursor to Blue Collar from BTO debut album.
Garry Peterson on drums doing a fine job on this one.
This track sounds a lot like his very fine guitar work on "Blue Collar". Sounding less dated in some ways than the American Woman LP, or what became the The Way Way They Were LP, which was recorded around the same period.
Randy Bachman is an underrated genius.
Smooth jazz at it;s best
RB is THE MAN.
Good chance for Garry Peterson to show some jazz chops on the skins
Adam Holtz
