Review by Joseph Crawford

Sinners Hop Part 1 by Paul Williams' Hucklebuckers is a fantastic album that showcases the band's incredible talent and skill. From start to finish, the album is filled with energetic and catchy tunes that will have listeners tapping their feet and dancing along.

The album kicks off with the title track, "Sinners Hop," a lively and upbeat song that sets the tone for the rest of the record. Other standout tracks include "Good Rockin' Mama," "That's All Right," and "I'm a Lover." Each song is expertly crafted, with tight instrumentation and soulful vocals that perfectly capture the spirit of classic rock and roll.

One of the things that makes Sinners Hop Part 1 so great is the way it seamlessly blends different genres and styles. There are elements of blues, swing, jazz, and even a bit of country thrown in for good measure. This gives the album a rich and diverse sound that keeps things interesting from beginning to end.

I had a Savoy EP with this on it, used it for my phone greeting one time....Great R&B bandleader and saxophonist from Detroit, this hit was an adaption of Charlie Parker's "Now's The Time"....Was #1 on the Billboard R&B chart for 14 weeks in 1949 and spawned a dance craze....It was covered by both pop and R&B artists of that day, but this version was the top selling R&B song of that year....Paul Williams passed away in 2002 at age 87.
Paul Williams' other hit songs can be found on Paul Williams The Complete Recordings Volume 1-3, on his website.
