Review by Marcos Ancillotti

Cafe Blue, the fourth studio album by American jazz singer-songwriter and pianist Patricia Barber, is a masterpiece of contemporary jazz music. Released in 1994, it quickly became a classic and a must-have for any jazz lover's collection.

The album features Barber's rich and sultry voice, combined with her exceptional piano skills and a talented band. The songs are a mix of original compositions and jazz standards, all infused with Barber's unique style and interpretation.

One of the most notable tracks on the album is "Ode to Billy Joe," a hauntingly beautiful rendition of the classic song. Barber's vocals are mesmerizing, and the piano accompaniment perfectly complements the melancholic mood of the piece.

Another standout track is "Too Rich for My Blood," a lively and upbeat number that showcases Barber's playful side. The lyrics are witty and clever, and the band's performance is energetic and fun.

Fabulous music with excellent intrepretation! Jazz at his best. One of my best cd ever bought.Since its release in 1994, this album has remained a benchmark for both sonic and musical achievement. There is everything in this album, but above all a pleasurable pleasure.I have even just rediscovered Too rich for my blood with its lyrical song and this intoxicating percussion.Truly, a great masterpiece!
