Parliament's debut album First Thangs was released in 1972 and received critical acclaim for its unique blend of funk, soul, and psychedelic rock. The album features the iconic vocals of George Clinton and the infectious grooves of the Funkadelic band.
The opening track "Baby I Owe You Something Good" sets the tone for the rest of the album, with its funky bassline and catchy chorus. The album continues with hits like "The Silent Boatman," "I Call My Baby Pussycat," and "Little Ole Country Boy," all of which showcase Parliament's signature sound.
The album also features a cover of the classic song "I Just Want to Testify," which was a hit for the group. The track features a driving rhythm section and Clinton's soulful vocals, making it one of the standout tracks on the album.
