Review by Patrice Dupuis

Panta Rhei II's self-titled album is a stunning display of musical talent and creativity. The band's ability to blend various genres seamlessly is impressive, as they effortlessly move from jazz to rock to world music in a single track. The album is a perfect representation of the band's name, which means "everything flows" in Greek.

The opening track, "Flowing River," sets the tone for the rest of the album with its vibrant energy and dynamic instrumentation. The use of traditional instruments such as the sitar and tabla in "Eastern Sunrise" adds a unique flavor to the album, while the saxophone and guitar solos in "The Chase" showcase the band's improvisational skills.

The album's standout track, "The Journey," is a 10-minute epic that takes the listener on a musical journey through different moods and emotions. The song's intricate arrangements and soaring melodies make it a true masterpiece.

About Panta Rhei II

More than 40 years after the end of Panta Rhei (with Ed Swillms, Herbert Dreilich and Veronika Fischer), Henning Protzmann founded PANTA RHEI II. In this new band he tries to transfer the vibes of this legendary band into the new time. Next to old Panta Rhei songs, the new formation plays also songs of Karat (Auf den Meeren) and selected highlights of artists like Ray Charles or Al Jerreau. Ben Maysen (Vocals) Martina Barta: Vocals (until 2017) Michael Lehrmann: Guitar Henning Protzmann: Bass Guitar Matthias Hessel: Piano Ronny Dehn: Drums Semjon Barlas: Trumpet Stefan Schätzke: Saxophone Lars Juling: Trombone
