Review by Brent Bernasconi

The album Jalousie by Orkiestra Polskiego Radia is a beautiful collection of traditional Polish folk music that showcases the talent and skill of the ensemble. The album features a variety of instruments, including violins, cellos, clarinets, and accordions, which come together to create a rich and vibrant sound that is both lively and melancholic.

The album opens with the title track, "Jalousie," a classic tango that is given a unique twist by the orchestra's arrangement. The piece is followed by a series of traditional Polish folk songs, including "Hej, Sokoły," "Wlazł kotek na płotek," and "Uciekła mi przepióreczka." Each song is masterfully performed, with the musicians displaying a deep understanding of the music and its cultural significance.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "Krakowiak," a lively dance that features a virtuosic violin solo. The piece is a testament to the skill of the orchestra's musicians, who are able to seamlessly blend traditional folk music with classical techniques to create a truly unique sound.
