Review by Walter Nevin Jefferson

Namie Amuro's album "60s 70s 80s" is a nostalgic trip down memory lane, featuring covers of classic hits from three iconic decades of music. The Japanese pop star showcases her versatile vocals as she effortlessly transitions between genres, paying homage to the legends who paved the way for her own success.

The album opens with a funky rendition of The Supremes' "Where Did Our Love Go," complete with groovy basslines and infectious hooks. Amuro's sultry voice adds a modern twist to the timeless track, while still capturing its original essence.

Other highlights include her soulful take on Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On," which showcases her emotional depth and range, and a rock-infused version of Blondie's "Heart of Glass," which highlights her edgier side. Amuro also tackles disco classics like Donna Summer's "Hot Stuff" and Bee Gees' "Stayin' Alive," bringing her own flair to the dancefloor anthems.

Summary by Walter Nevin Jefferson

Despite covering such iconic songs, Amuro manages to make each track her own, infusing them with her own unique style and personality. "60s 70s 80s" is a testament to the timelessness of great music and a fitting tribute to the artists who inspired Amuro's own career.
