Comments

Having finished with The Ballroom and Sagittarius, wunderkind Curt Boettcher embarked on his next studio project-assembling The Millennium. The album came to be the most expensive the record company ever funded. Curt produced it together with Keith Olsen, the former bassist of the Music Machine. Although the exact details aren't given, it's obvious that Keith must have admired the skills of drummer Ron Edgar and keyboardist Doug Rhodes as they both were added to the Millennium ensemble. Ron's drumming especially shimmers on every track (Just listen to "Prelude"). A tight performance all around. An album like this reminds me of simpler times. A spring day with peace and joy in the air. As far as sunshine pop is concerned, Begin is nonpareil, and undoubtedly Boettcher's masterwork. Curt used his studio wizardry to create a kind of sonic serenity. This only magnified the crafty arrangements, charming melodies, and guileless vocals. Brian Wilson allegedly was enthralled. Despite praise it has received from critics and fans alike, the album was a commercial flop. It wasn't until years later that it finally gained the attention it deserved, and many critics now consider it a lost treasure. As much as I love it, there are a few weaker tracks, namely "Sing To Me", "Anthem", and "The Know It All" that could have been substituted. There are two negligible outtakes from this album available on the CD reissue. The Magic Time compilation has more outtakes. This comp also includes unreleased songs and demos from the Ballroom sessions, which never made it to the public. Highlights include "Sunshine Today", "Dancing Dandelion", "Spinning, Spinning, Spinning", "Magic Time", "You Turn Me Around", "It's a Sad World", "I'll Grow Stronger", "Lead Me to Love", "Would You Like To Go", and "I'm Not Living Here". A rarer comp called Pieces has even more. Several of them also outshine the aforementioned weak tracks, such as "Can You See", "How Much I Love You", and "I Just Don't Know How to Say Goodbye".
bro, ive been trying to find this song and all i could remember from it was "five, five o clock in the morning,"
This song is fucking hot to the touch. Especially the first 25 seconds or so. Would be a great song for a really psychotic movie scene with lots of blood and gore. Contrast baby.
Thank you spotify
The Resort brought me here.

Such a Hidden Gem
Producer Curt Boettcher decided to make his dream album.  He assembled his favorite
musicians and created this magical mystery concoction.  He insulated the recording studio with cotton
candy, recruited unicorns to sing, and sprinkled fairy dust on the mixing console.  It is so beautifully recorded
that headphones should be mandatory.  There are people who believe that Boettcher’s work in 1968, Ballroom to Sagittarius
to Millennium, rivals Pepper and Pet Sounds. I’m one of them.
I can't believe this is from 1968... I thought it was a modern indie song!
Everytime I hear this song I feel peace.
Thank you Spotify for recommend this song
this is the only good hippie contribution

The best 2010s indie song of 1968
Puto temazo wn
I used this for my college "mood with music" assignment for beginning cinematograhy class at Wash. St Univ. in 1971. I rode with a milkman early in the morning in rural farm country. It's on 8 MM, and if I can get it transferred to a newer app., I can post it on a Millennium website / You Tube. Wish me luck with that....I've been putting it off for years, but I'm getting there.
Why is the Millenium-topic channel with this song disliked a lot?
this song is beautiful~?
god is this a gorgeous song
I've been listening to this on repeat for more that 3 hours straight...
